There are times when I regret not training my mind to understand the structure of music, so that I can create it. Nowadays, I cannot practice on the piano by virtue of muscle memorization and sight-reading, and I'm left merely with an appreciation of music. • in stencil, on pressed paper, sealed with wax, all the works
  
• get them to ad-lib a paragraph from a novel they like
  
• or, get them to mad libs an article from the newspaper, magazine, ad
